The unusual friendship between man and fish began 25 years ago when Hirooki found fish at the gates of an underwater park.

She was very weak, could hardly move and could not get food for herself.

According to scientists, some species of fish can distinguish human faces, but this fact has not been scientifically proven. The fish that Hiruoki is friends with is the Asian Sheep-headed Wrasse.

This is a very peculiar creature and many would call him unattractive. The wrasse has several spherical outgrowths on the forehead and chin. But to the Japanese, his friend seems very sweet and likable.

He assures that close up the fish head is very similar to a human face. And if you get close, then you can recognize someone from your friends and acquaintances.
